WHICH IS FASTER?

I am new to this and was wondering:

Is it faster for an American man to bring his RW to America by:

A. Marrying her in her country (FSU) then come back to America as husband and wife?

Or

B. Visit her in her country and take pictures of both to send to the American Immigration Agencies to apply for a bride visa and wait till she is granted one and gets to America?

All of this assumes they have communicated for more than a year, have met and are ready to tie the knot.

B Finacee visa

It use to be much faster to marry the women in Russia. The day after the wedding you just brought the paper work to the American embassy or consulate. I did this it only took 21 days afterwards.

But since 911 the American Embassy in Russia does not except the applications anymore. So if you get married in Russian then you need to file in the US with the INS. IF you do this it will take one to two years. A fiancée visa only takes 3 to 6 months.

......Why is the wait that long now? It's a exageration. Will it be any faster if the wedding took place elsewhere in Europe, like in France?

Also, I see many on the forum complain that the wait for a fiancee visa is now closer to a year or more since 9/11......

Fast Fiancee visa

No marrying in country other then her home country will take even longer.
The embassies will have to transfer paper work to each other. Also she would still have to go back to her county to get police report and so forth. If a fiancée visa takes more then 6 months some one is doing some thing wrong. To speed things up you should work with a fiancée visa company that has an office in her home country. The office can get the paper work she needs and have it ready for the embassy. Other companies/attorneys only help the guy, so she is on her own and she has to wait for the paper work to come to her. AFA has their office get the paper work ready ahead of time and submit it to the embassies as soon as the INS in the US approves her. This can save one to two months. Their web site is

http://www.fiancee-visa.com/

Depending on the state you live in it can take as little as three months or as much as 6 months. 8 months is the absolute max.

I also hear there is the visual evidence (photos and letters) the couple must submit to USA Immmigration agency to apply for the K1 visa. How many photos minimum are enough? Does the couple need to be holding hands in any? And how many letters minimum? Which tone must the letters have? How recent must photos and letters be?

Does not really matter.

The only thing they are looking for is that you have met, and that you have a relationship, and that you plan on getting married. Never really new anyone to get turned down if they had met the minimum requirement for a fiancee visa.

1. You have met in person
2. You are both single
3. You make above the minum income, I think it is $17,000 per year now.
4. you plan on getting married
5. She does not have a crimnial record.

If you met through a marriage agency/ web site you need the company to provide the IMBRA Documents. If she was on an marriage agnecy web site do not lie to them. If you you lie to an embassy officail she will be blocked forever. I have seen the embassy in Latvia with printouts of women profiles.

Hope this helps

Fiance Visa

The Fiance Visa is a means in which a U.S. Citizen may bring his or her loved one to the United States legally and generally receives quick approval. K1 visa is the fastest way to bring your fiance/fiancee to US. This visa gives the couple 90 days upon arrival to marry.

k1 visa

Yes it might seem like traveling to her country and getting married there would be the quickest way but it's not. The last thing you want to do when you are beginning a new relationship is start it off with problems that could separate you later. Going with a k1 visa is really the smartest and quickest way to get through the process. Either way it's going to feel like a slow process because you are excited about this new part of your life, but don't make mistakes you will regret later. If you get a k1 visa kit you will have everything you need to get through the process successfully good luck

More information about Visas

Learn more about K-1 Fiancee Visas.

According to the website: "...a step-by-step guide and a must-have reference for those that are committed to the process as well as those still contemplating marriage to a foreign woman.

Many men consider meeting and marrying a beautiful foreign women, but they have no idea what is involved in the process. This lack of information or receiving misinformation normally scares away many from this fantastic opportunity to meet someone very special."
