Okay, your should be a virgin if you NEVER had sexual intercourse. It doesn't have to do with anything about your hymen. Some women never had one and some may have broken theirs by exercising.
It is true that many women break their hymen through some activity (rough sports, tampons, etc.), sometimes without even knowing it.
But this line about some or many girls being born without one has got to stop! The hymen is a biologic fact of the female anatomy. It is remotely possible to be born without one, but it is only about as probable as being born with one breast. You have a better chance of being struck by lighting a couple times than being born without a hymen!
(It's still a great excuse if you want to lie about being a virgin, though)
